Maryland Gymnastics Releases 2023 Schedule

College Park, MD --  Maryland gymnastics has released its 2022-23 season schedule, as announced by head coach Brett Nelligan on Thursday. 

"We're thrilled to have such an exciting schedule filled with top notch opponents," said Nelligan. "We're looking forward to getting out there and competing with the best, fans won't want to miss a single meet this year."

The Terps will host three dual meets, one quad meet and a five-team meet, while meeting opponents on the road seven times before heading to the Big Ten Championships in Iowa City, Iowa. 

Maryland will first compete amongst one another in its annual intrasquad Red vs. Black meet, which will be held on Dec. 7. Maryland will then hit the road and head to Morgan Town, West Virginia to compete against West Virginia and Kent State in a tri-meet on Friday, Jan. 13.

The Gym Terps will kick off their Big Ten slate as they travel to Lincoln to face Nebraska on Saturday, Jan. 21 at 6:00 p.m. Maryland will host their home opener and continue Big Ten competition the following Sunday, Jan. 29 as they take on Michigan State at 1:00 p.m. in College Park.

Maryland will then return to the road to compete against Ohio State, on Feb. 5 at 2:00 p.m. The Terps continue their February road trip as they face Rutgers on Saturday, Feb. 11 in Piscataway, N.J.  

Maryland returns to Xfinity on Friday, Feb. 17 as they host Southern Connecticut State University for a 7:00 p.m. dual meet. The Gym Terps remain in College Park hosting Big Ten foe Minnesota two days later on Sunday, Feb. 19 at 1:00 p.m. Maryland defeated then-No.6 Minnesota 196.700-196.225, as the Terps posted their fourth highest score ever to take down the Golden Gophers.

The annual Big Five meet will occur on Friday, Feb. 24 at 8:00 p.m. where the Terps will compete against conference foes Illinois, Iowa, Michigan and Penn State . The Terps stay on the road the following weekend traveling to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to face Temple, Towson and West Chester University in a quad-meet on Thursday, March 2 at 4:00 p.m.

The Gym Terps host their quad-meet on Sunday, March 5 as they welcome UNH, Brown and Penn to the Xfinity Center. Maryland then travels down the road to Washington, D.C. to compete against GW and Towson in a tri-meet on Friday, March 10. Two days later, the Terps host their final home meet facing Temple, Yale, Towson, and GW on Sunday, March 12 at 12:00 p.m.

The Big Ten Championships are set to be held in Iowa City, Iowa beginning on Saturday, March 18. The NCAA first, second, and third rounds will be held the weekend of March 29 through April 2, with the semis and finals occurring in Fort Worth, Texas, April 13-15.
