Terps Drop Match At No. 15 Penn State

Box Score UNIVERSITY PARK, PA -- Maryland volleyball fell to No. 15 Penn State, 3-1 (21-25, 20-25, 25-21, 21-25), on Wednesday evening at Rec Hall.

The Terps battled the Nittany Lions throughout the night, keeping them close for the entire first and second sets. Maryland flipped the script in the third set, rolling to a 25-21 victory behind four kills from Laila Ivey. That set up an ensuing back-and-forth fourth set, before Penn State pulled away late.

Sam Csire led the way with 15 kills, followed by Ivey's 11. The duo was solid in front all night against a strong Penn State attack.

Maryland out-blocked Penn State, 11-8, led by Anastasia Russ' seven.

The Terps drop to 13-12 overall and 4-9 in the Big Ten. Penn State improves to 18-6 and 7-6 in the conference.
