COLLEGE PARK, MD –  A dominant, two-way effort lifted the No. 12 Maryland women's basketball team over Wisconsin, 70-43, on Wednesday night inside XFINITY Center.
Angel Reese led the Terps (18-6, 10-3 B1G) in scoring with a game-high 19 to go along with nine rebounds as they picked up their sixth straight victory.
Chloe Bibby continued her hot stretch of games as she poured in 16 points, while
Shyanne Sellers and
Diamond Miller also finished in double-figures with 12 points and 11 points, respectively.
Katie Benzan was on point all game as she finished with nine points, including a perfect 3-3 from three.Â
The Maryland offense was potent as it shot over 47% from the field, including 42% from three-point range. The Terps' defense was just as strong as it forced 26 turnovers, turning them into 27 points.Â
Wisconsin (6-17, 3-10) was led by Brooke Schramek's 12 points.Â
Brenda Frese's Take
"The Pink Game is always a game with a little bit of extra meaning for each of us, you know especially for those who have had someone that's been impacted by cancer.
Â
"We talked about this before the game, how we wanted to set the tone for this last push in the regular season, which sets up for March. I love the fact that we set the tone on both ends defensively, and then getting everyone involved on the offensive end. Obviously love what lies ahead. Except for Iowa, we've seen everyone that we're going to face here that's going to prepare us for this last stretch in March. No doubt we've played the toughest conference [schedule] than anyone out there. We've played the top three teams, by the time we finish our season, we'll have played each of them twice. I'd rather be battle tested like that, going into the Big Ten tournament and the postseason. Love the chemistry and where we're at right now."
