
Twelve Terps Named Inside Lacrosse All-Americans

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Led by Logan Wisnauskas, Roman Puglise, Luke Wierman, Jonathan Donville, and Brett Makar on the first team, twelve Terps were named All-Americans by Inside Lacrosse, the publication announced Sunday night.
The twelve selections lead all schools with Georgetown next closest at seven selections.
Wisnauskas, selected first overall in the 2022 Premier Lacrosse League Draft, leads the Terrapins in points this season (90) and career points in program history (327). Wisnauskas has recently earned 2022 Big Ten Tournament MVP, the 2022 Big Ten Medal of Honor, and was named 2022 Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year.
Puglise joined Wisnauskas in the first round as he does now on the first team. Puglise was a first-team All-Big Ten selection and was the 2021 Big Ten Medal of Honor recipient.
Faceoff specialist Luke Wierman has already set season records for faceoffs won (252) and faceoffs taken (289) in a season with time left to add. defenseman Brett Makar is the leader on a a stout Terrapins defense allowing foes only 9.2 goals per game as he individually has racked up 25 GB, 14 CT, and his first career goal.
Jonathan Donville rounded out the first team after a season with 27 goals, 19 assists, and 46 points out of the midfield. He was also drafted on Tuesday night. The top pick in the 2021 NLL Draft, Donville was named 2022 All-Big Ten Second Team in his first season as a Terp.
On the third team, Ajax Zappitello is the lone Terp. Zappitello leads the Terrapins with 22 caused turnovers to go alongside 18 GB. He has three straight games with a point after registering his first career assist on May 5 against Johns Hopkins and his first career goal May 15 against Vermont.
Logan McNaney, Matt Rahill, Kyle Long, Bubba Fairman, and Jake Higgins close things out as honorable mentions. McNaney has been a steadying presence in frame with 139 saves on a 55.8 percent rate. Rahill has 19 GB, 15 CT, and two points including a SportsCenter Top 10 Play after a 70-yard goal against then-No.2 Virginia at Audi Field.
Long has racked up 15 goals, 20 assists, and 35 points out of the midfield this season. After transitioning to SSDM, Fairman has scooped 27 GB alongside three goals and three assists. Working with Fairman, Higgins has 24 GB and caused four turnovers.
John Geppert, a 2022 Second Team All-Big Ten, scored five goals this season to go alongside 42 GB and 11 CT. Geppert has started every game as an LSM.
Maryland travels to Columbus, Ohio for a meeting with the Virginia Cavaliers on May 22 at 2:30 PM.
