Jason Savacool were named Baseball America All-Americans, the publication announced on Friday. Alleyne was named to the First Team while Savacool was named to the Second Team.
Alleyne put together one of the greatest seasons in Maryland Baseball history, batting .331 with 24 home runs, 79 RBIs, and 24 stolen bases. His 24 home runs are the most in a single season in program history as are his 263 at-bats. The Philadelphia native also became the first player in Division 1 baseball to hit more than 20 home runs and steal more than 20 bases in a single season since 2018.
Alleyne's season has earned him national praise from virtually every outlet as he was named the Big Ten Player of the Year, a D1Baseball All-American, Collegiate Baseball First Team All-American, ABCA/Rawlings First Team All-East Region, National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association First Team All-American, and a Golden Spikes Semifinalist.
As one of the Terps aces, Savacool was dominant all season as he struck out 123 batters while pitching a team-high 107.2 innings. The Baldwinsville, New York, native finished his sophomore campaign with an 8-3 record and a 2.93 ERA. Savacool was also named to the All-Big Ten First Team this season, a finalist for Big Ten Pitcher of the Year, a D1 Baseball All-American and a National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Third Team All-American.
