Chardon Set for FIBA U20 European Championships

COLLEGE PARK, MD -- Sophomore forward Emma Chardon of the Maryland women's basketball team will play for her home country of Switzerland in the FIBA U20 European Championships Division B, beginning this weekend in Skopje, Macedonia.

Chardon and the Swiss team will take on Ukraine in their first game Sunday, July 10 at 10 a.m. ET at the Sports Centre Boris Trajkovski. For the full schedule of games, click HERE. Fans can watch the entire tournament at YouTube.com/FIBA.

Chardon has played in the Swiss National Teams since she was 15. Last summer, she played in the FIBA Euro Challengers. In 2019, she put up 15.8 points, 11.8 rebounds and shot 51.8 percent in the FIBA U18 Championships. Chardon averaged 18.4 points, 11.3 rebounds and shot 53.7 percent from the floor in the FIBA U-16 championships in 2016. 

In her first season in College Park, Chardon saw action in 17 games and shot 46 percent from the floor.
