College Park, MD -- Maryland women's soccer forward Mikayla Dayes has been named Terp of the Week, the Athletics Department announced Monday.

Mikayla Dayes, who receives her first Terp of the Week honor this season, has been a consistent offensive threat for the Terrapins this season. Dayes recorded her first goal of the season in the Big Ten conference opener on Friday night, lifting Maryland over Michigan by a score of 1-0. The win marks the program's first-ever win over Michigan along with their first conference victory since October 2019. Dayes also has two assists on the season, bringing her to four points through eight games. 

Maryland will return to action on Thursday as they close out their six-game home stand, hosting Illinois. Kickoff is set for 7 pm.
