The University of Maryland women's soccer team will travel to the midwest to take on No. 23 Wisconsin on Thursday night at 8Â pm. The Terps will then return to Ludwig field on Sunday as they host Michigan State at 1 pm. Both games will be streamed on B1G+.

series history
- Wisconsin holds a 0-4-2 overall record with Maryland. Wisconsin and Maryland met in the 2020-21 season as the Terps fell by a score of 2-0 in Madison.   Â
- Maryland has a 2-2-3 all-time record with Michigan State. The two teams met in East Lansing last season as the Spartans came away with a 2-0 win.
Looking back to last week
- Maryland dropped a back and forth contest to Illinois by a score of 3-2. Alyssa Poarch scored in the opening 20 seconds of the game. Mikayla Dayes recorded the second goal of the match for the Terps in the 78th minute. Â
- The Terps took their first B1G road trip of the season to No. 4 Rutgers on Sunday. Maryland dropped a hard fought battle 1-0 after the Scarlet Knights scored a goal in the 88th minute of play.Â

- After facing No. 4 Rutgers on Sunday, the Terps are facing their second consecutive ranked opponent this week as Wisconsin comes in with a ranking of #23. Â
- Wisconsin will be the fourth ranked opponent Maryland faces this season. Â
- Maryland has surrendered just two goals against ranked opponents so far this season. The Terps have battled head to head with No. 4 Rutgers, No. 17 Georgetown, and No. 24 Wake Forest.Â
New Terps making an impact early
- Amanda Schafer, Christa Waterman and Sydney Urban have all played a significant role in the team's lockdown defense. Maryland has surrendered just seven shots on goal in their previous two matches.   Â
- Six of the 10 goals scored so far this season have been scored by Maryland newcomers
a new era
- Coach Meghan Ryan Nemzer continues her first season at the helm of the Maryland women's soccer program. Coach Nemzer comes to Maryland after spending the previous 14 seasons on the coaching staff at Rutgers.Â
- Katie Ely and Alex Ng will also be joining the Maryland staff this season. Ely has spent the previous seven seasons on the women's soccer staff at the University of Georgia, while Ng comes to Maryland after spending the past two seasons on the University of Richmond women's soccer staff.
- Coach Nemzer has also added Kenie Wright to the staff along with Justine Stoner. Wright will serve as the Director of Player Development, the first in the program's history, while Stoner will fill the director of operations position.
- Finally, Joe Nemzer rounds out the staff as the program's volunteer assistant coach. Joe brings more than a decade of soccer expertise with experience in both the professional and college ranks.
- Coach Nemzer and her staff welcome 19 new Terps to College Park this season, including 9 freshmen and 10 transfers.
- The New Staff recorded their first win at Maryland on Sunday, September 4th, with a commanding 3-0 win over George Mason.
