Maryland to Open 2022-23 Season at Yale

NEW HAVEN, CT - The Maryland women's golf team is officially back on the fairways to tee off the 2022-23 season at the Yale Invitational this weekend in Connecticut.
 
Over the two-day tournament (Sept. 10-11), Maryland will play the par-71 - 5,991-yard Yale Golf Club. The tournament will consist of 54-holes of play (36-holes Saturday, 18-holes Sunday) beginning at 8:15 a.m. both days.
 
The Terrapins will be led by three upperclassmen in the lineup - junior Patricie Mackova, senior Maria Vittoria Corbi, and sophomore Panassaya Somchit. 
 
Two freshmen will make their collegiate debut this week in Nicha Kanpai of Chiang Rai, Thailand, and AnPhi Le of Fredrick, Md.
 
"The first tournament of the year is always filled with excitement, nerves, and a ton of optimism, and this year is no different," said head coach Kelly Hovland. "I can't wait to get this team in competition and see how to adapt to college golf. We have the experience and talent to handle the challenges presented this week, and I expect to have a ton of fun this weekend at Yale!"
 
Participants in the invitational include host Yale, Albany, Boston College, Boston University, Georgia Southern, Hartford, Harvard, James Madison, Quinnipiac, Sacred Heart, Seton Hall, Toledo, UC-Irvine, and Penn.
