The shorthanded Terps (8-4, 0-3) battled hard on the road at Illinois (5-4, 3-2), with Braxton Brown and Ethen Miller, Jaron Smith securing victories, but ultimately fell 29-11.
Brown kicked off the dual with a hard-fought decision (his 17th win of the year) keyed by a pair of takedowns in the final period. After Illinois took the next two matches, Miller came out and dominated his bout, claiming an 18-3 technical fall to tie the dual at 8-8. The Illini took five of the final six bouts, including one by forfeit at 197 to win the dual.
