Terps Forward Kat Parris Earns Panamanian National Team Call Up

COLLEGE PARK, MD -- University of Maryland women's soccer forward Kat Parris has earned a call up to the Panamanian National Team ahead of its CONCACAF Women's Gold Cup qualification fixture against Jamaica Wednesday, Nov. 29.

This is the first call up for Parris to the Panamanian squad, and comes after her first year in College Park. Parris made 11 appearances for the Terrapins during the 2023 season, including two starts for the Silver Spring native. Parris finished her first year with the Terps after spending two seasons at Radford. The junior forward has tallied 21 goals and 13 assists in her three years of collegiate play. While at Radford, Parris was a two-time First Team All-Big South selection and was the Big South Freshman of the year in 2021.

Parris is the second Terrapin under head coach Meghan Ryan Nemzer to earn a senior national team call up. Freshman Madison Krakower earned a call up to the Puerto Rican National Team ahead of the 2023 season. Multiple current Terrapins have also received junior national team call ups, including Mia Mitchell (Jamaica) and Kennedy Bell (United States).
