Five Terps Named Inside Lacrosse Midseason All-Americans

COLLEGE PARK, MD – Meghan Ball, Eloise Clevenger, Hannah Leubecker, Libby May, and Emily Sterling have been named Midseason All-Americans by Inside Lacrosse, as announced on Thursday.

Ball was named to the first team, while Clevenger, and Sterling were named to the second team. Leubecker and May were listed as honorable mentions.

Ball has started all 11 games for the Terps. She has grabbed 17 ground balls and caused 19 turnovers, leading the team in both categories. She is a crucial member of the draw, earning the second-highest team total of 41. She ranks third in the Big Ten in caused turnovers per game (1.73) and sixth in draws per game (3.73).

Clevenger, a senior attacker, leads Maryland in points (52) and assists (40). She has also added 12 goals in 11 games. After tallying three feeds against No. 14 Penn, Clevenger is tied fourth all-time in career assists in program history at 119. She leads the Big Ten in assists per game (3.64). 

Sterling, the reigning Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Year, has been stellar in the cage for the Terps through 11 games. She has made 101 saves, posting a 7.89 goals against average which is the second lowest in the conference. She owns a .555 save percentage on the year, sitting second in the Big Ten.

Leubecker, a Forest Hill, Maryland, native leads the team in goals at 32. She has scored in all 11 games so far this season and has doubled her scoring with 18 goals in the last four games. She ranks ninth in the conference in goals per game and has garnered an offensive player of the week award from the Big Ten.

May has been one of the Terp's most consistent scorers so far this season. She has tallied 20 goals, including two hat tricks, and four assists in 11 games. She earned Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week following her four goal game against No. 2 James Madison.

The Terps will resume conference play against No. 2 Michigan this Saturday, March 30 in Ann Arbor.
