Lenhard and Bell Named to United States U-20 National Team Roster

COLLEGE PARK, MD -- Maryland women's soccer student-athletes Emily Lenhard and Kennedy Bell have been named to the United States U-20 Women's National Team Training Camp roster. Maryland is one of only seven programs to have multiple players named to the U-20 national team roster, and one of only two programs from the Big Ten. The training camp will take place from March 31-April 7 at the Kansas City Current's University of Kansas Health System Training Center in Kansas City, Missouri.

"We are extremely proud of Emily and Kennedy for receiving the call-up to this U-20 camp", said head women's soccer coach Michael Marchiano. They are both highly talented and have worked hard for this opportunity. Terp Nation is excited to see them represent their country and know they will do well."

Lenhard was a prominent feature in the Terrapins roster in her freshman campaign, playing in 19 games and making 13 starts. The Stafford, Virginia native finished the season with one goal and a team leading three assists. Lenhard's first collegiate goal was a special one, as the midfielder scored it from the corner spot for an Olimpico. Lenhard picked up her first collegiate assist against George Mason on Sept. 1, 2024, as a part of a two-assist game. Lenhard also picked up an assist in Maryland's 4-0 win over VCU. She played a total of 1,185 minutes during her freshman season, playing in 60 minutes or more in 14 matches.

Bell built on her phenomenal freshman season, playing and starting in 18 matches in 2024. Bell was tied for the team lead with three goals, and added two assists. Bell played the third-most minutes for the Terps with 1,500, going 80 or more minutes in 14 matches. Bell scored her first collegiate goal in Maryland's season-opening win at Lehigh. Bell had a two-goal performance in Maryland's 4-0 win over VCU, adding an assist on the team's final goal of the match. The two-goal outing was the first for a Terp since a road match against James Madison on Aug. 8, 2023.
