As a Redshirt Freshman (2019-20): Posted a 4-9 record wrestling at 141 pounds...earned fourth place at the American Round Robin (11/9)...picked up a win over Central Michigan’s Mitchel Christensen at the Black Knight Invite (11/17)...posted back-to-back wins over George Mason’s Shawn Nonaka and Edinboro’s Michael Cassidy at the Patriot Open (12/7)...beat Franklin & Marshall’s Sean Coakley at the F&M Open...appeared in his first dual lineup facing Illinois’ Dylan Duncan (2/9)

As a Freshman (2018-19): Won seven matches while wrestling in open competition...tied for second-most wins by fall on the roster with four...opened season with 15-0 technical fall win at Shorty Hitchcock Open (1/12)...stuck Kutztown's Robbie Hazard (1/12)...won three consecutive bouts by fall at the Messiah Open on the way to a 4-2 weekend...won a match at the National Collegiate Open.

Before Maryland: Four-time state placer at McDonogh (3rd, 2nd, 2nd & 2nd)…finished high school career with 136-42 record…recorded 45 career pins at McDonogh…three-time MIAA Champion, four-time MIAA place-winner...four-time National Prep All-American...two-time Beast of the East place winner...two-time First Team All-Metro…three-time Ray Oliver Tournament placer…went 39-9 as a senior with 13 pins at 145 pounds.

Personal: Son of Sean and Liz Devaney…has four siblings, Karis, Kayla, Erin and Patrick…chose Maryland for the wrestling, academics and campus…pregame meal is spaghetti...advice to youngsters is to never take anything for granted...majoring in letters and sciences.
