Six Former Terps In National Lacrosse League

Jan. 13, 2000

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Six former Maryland lacrosse players are listed on the National Lacrosse League's rosters at the start of the 2000 season.

Among the players is 1999 Honorable Mention All-American Scott Hochstadt, who is serving as a student assistant coach with the 2000 Terrapins. Hochstadt, who led Maryland in scoring for the last two seasons, is a rookie attackman for the Buffalo Bandits. He was a sixth-round draft pick in the 2000 NLL draft. Hochstadt finished his Maryland career as the fifth all-time leading goal scorer with 121.

Three former Terps are playing for the Pittsburgh Crossfire, which relocated from Baltimore following the 1999 season. Four-year indoor veteran Kip Fulks, who was a second-team All-American and All-ACC selection with the Terps in 1995 leads the way for the trio. Joining him are second-year veteran Brian Reese and indoor rookie Bill Ruhl, who both played at Maryland from 1995 to 1998.

Andrew Whipple, who served as a student assistant coach during the 1999 season, is a rookie attackman for the expansion Albany Attack. Whipple ranks as the eighth all-time leading scorer in Maryland history with 190 points from 1995-98. He also ranks 11th in all-time goals scored with 93.

Rounding out Maryland's pros in the NLL is Philadelphia Wings defensemen Dan Radebaugh, who is in his fourth indoor season. Radebaugh was first-team All-American and All-ACC selection in 1995 at Maryland.

Here's a list of Maryland's all-time MILL/NLL players dating back to 1989. They are listed by the team they played with in their last season in the league and that year.
