GREENSBORO, N.C. - Maryland junior attackman Andrew "Buggs" Combs (Baltimore, Md.) was named the ACC's Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week on Monday, March 20, after leading the Terrapins to a pair of wins over ranked opponents last week.
Combs, who attended St. Paul's School, netted three goals in each of Maryland's games last week, which equaled his single-game career high. He opened the week with his first three-goal outing, including the game-winner, in the Terps' 13-4 win over 18th-ranked Delaware on Wednesday, March 15.
Combs followed that performance with his second hat trick of the week as he found the back of the net on three occasions in Maryland's 8-7 win at No. 11 Cornell on Saturday.
For the year, Combs has eight goals and three assists for 11 points, which ties him for fourth on the team in scoring. This is the first such honor for Combs and he is the first Maryland player to earn the ACC Player of the Week this season.
