Senior Emily Marker advances to the Eastern Regional final with her fourth singles win in four days of play. Marker will contend for the ITA Regional title for the first time in her collegiate career.
Maryland's Ramona But (Timisoara, Romania) came close to playing Marker in the finals. However, But was defeated by Old Dominion's Nataly Cahana, 6-4, 6-1. Cahana was the No.2 seed in the singles bracket. But racked up four singles wins in her four days of tennis action at regionals.
Emily Marker (Ann Arbor, Mich.) soundly defeated Penn's Nikki Ptak, 6-4, 6-3. The win was Markers' fifth straight at regionals. By advancing to the title match, she earned a spot in the November 6-9 ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships held at the University of Michigan.
Marker will face Old Dominions' Nataly Cahana for the ITA Eastern Regional singles title. The match is slated for Tues. Oct. 29, at 12:30 p.m.
