Marker Named A Second Team CoSIDA All-American

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Graduate tennis player Emily Marker (Ann Arbor, Mich.) has been named a second team CoSIDA All-American, the organization announced. Marker graduated Maryland with a 4.0 GPA and led the Terrapins to a top-50 finish in 2003-04.

Marker is a graduate student with a 4.00 GPA in Decision Information Systems. She started the spring season ranked No. 44 in the nation and played mostly in top-two singles positions, finishing with a 18-16 singles record. She played in two national championship tournaments in fall 2003 and was an East regional finalist. Marker helped Maryland finish in top 50.

She graduated in the winter of 2003 with a perfect 4.0 and was awarded UM Presidential and Lockheed Martin Scholarship. She was also granted Weaver-James Corrigan Post-Graduate Scholarship. Marker served as treasurer of Student-Athlete Advisory Council and was a commencement speaker at R.H. Smith school graduation.
