COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Maryland women's basketball grabbed the No. 7 seed in the Philadelphia Regional and hosts No. 10 seed Wisconsin-Green Bay in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. No. 2 seed Ohio State faces No. 15 seed Holy Cross to round out the four-team bracket. Other first-round games at Comcast Center are No. 4 seed Penn State against No. 13 seed Liberty and No. 5 seed DePaul versus No. 12 seed Virginia Tech.

"We're so proud of the fact that we're able to host and bring in all these quality teams," said Maryland head coach Brenda Frese. "We are looking forward to playing in front of all our friends, family and fans who have supported us the whole season."

The Terps, who are 21-9 on the season, earned an NCAA Tournament berth for the second-straight year and the 14th time in the history of the program. It is the first time since 1991 and 1992 the team has earned back-to-back tournament bids. Maryland closed out the regular season with a strong showing in the ACC Tournament, reaching the semifinals of the tournament with a win over Clemson and upset No. 19/21 NC State.

Facing the Terps in the first round is UW-Green Bay. The Phoenix is 27-3 on the season and is making its fourth-consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance and eighth overall. UWGB nabbed the Horizon League automatic berth by winning the conference tournament, 58-48, over Wright State.

Under the direction of Jim Foster, Ohio State is ranked No. 8/7 in the nation and is 28-4 on the season, finishing second in the Big Ten. The Buckeyes are making their 14th overall appearance in the "Big Dance." The Terps and OSU have met twice in the tournament, splitting the all-time series. The Buckeyes won the first meeting in 1986, but Maryland won in 1988 en route to the Elite Eight.

The 15th seed in the Philadelphia Regional, Holy Cross earned the Patriot League earned a spot in the NCAA Tournament by capturing its conference tournament crown. The Crusaders are 20-10 on the season and are under the direction of 20th-year head coach Bill Gibbons. The Terps and the Crusaders have met two other times, once in the NCAA Tournament when HC won, 81-74, in 1991.

With the new tournament format, Comcast Center was chosen one of eight predetermined sites for the postseason event. Also from the Big Ten Conference, Penn State will make a trip to College Park, as are DePaul from Conference USA, the Big South's Liberty and the ACC's Virginia Tech. The winner of that bracket moves on to the Sweet Sixteen in Chattanooga, Tenn.
