After a tough weekend on the road, the Maryland Terrapins will look to rebound with a pair of non-conference matchups this week. The Terps play host to UMBC on Tuesday at 7 p.m. before making a quick road trip a day later to Towson for a 3 p.m. tiff at John B. Schuerholz Park. Both games will be covered live by WMUC Sports.
Following a day off, the Terps open an important three-game series against ACC foe Wake Forest at Shipley Field. Game times are 7 p.m. Friday, and 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
UMBC SERIES HISTORY
Maryland leads all-time 27-13-1 (.671).
Last season, the two teams did not meet. In 2005, they split the season series, with Maryland taking the first game 8-6 before falling 7-9 a week later.
TOWSON SERIES HISTORY
The Terps lead in the all-time series, 32-24-2 (.569). Maryland dropped their first game in 2006 to the Tigers, 9-2, before bouncing back with a pair of home wins, 5-3 and 8-3.
SCOUTING THE RETRIEVERS
UMBC enters Tuesday's contest with an 8-12 record.
Steve Bowen leads the Retriever offense, as he is batting .420 with six doubles, three home runs and 12 RBIs.
The top pitcher for UMBC has been SteveEvans, who is 3-1 in seven appearances, with a 3.35 ERA.
