COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland women's basketball team will spend the Thanksgiving holiday in sunny Cancun, Mexico, as the team has been invited to participate in the Caribbean Challenge. The Terps will take on Illinois, South Dakota State and Montana from Nov. 26-28.

All games will be played at the luxurious all-inclusive Moon Palace Resort in the Galactic Ballroom. Fan packages are available by visiting www.caribbeanchallenge.net. Due to limited seating, admission to the games is only guaranteed through the purchase of a fan package. The Moon Palace Resort is the headquarter hotel for teams and fans. Admission onto the resort requires a confirmed lodging reservation at the resort.

The Terps' meeting with the Fighting Illini will be the first since 1987 and the third overall. It will be the first against Montana and South Dakota State. Maryland returns three starters from last year's team that reached the NCAA Elite Eight for the second time in three years, while going 33-4 overall. In 2007-08, the Terps also tied a school record with 13 ACC victories, finishing second in the league. Among the returnees are Nancy Liberman Award winner (presented to the nation's top point guard) and All-American Kristi Toliver (Harrisonburg, Va./Harrisonburg), as well as, three-time All-ACC pick Marissa Coleman (Cheltenham, Md./St. John's [D.C.]).

Book now for a unique basketball experience and to spend Thanksgiving with the Terps. For questions regarding the tournament, contact Melissa Koza at Triple Crown Sports at (970) 223-6644. A detailed schedule will be released at a later date.
