COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) -Kristi Toliver scored a season-high 29 points, hitting a career-best eight 3-pointers, and No. 12 Maryland beat Virginia Tech 96-79 Sunday.

Marissa Coleman added 21 points for the Terrapins (15-3, 3-1 Atlantic Coast Conference), who have won four in a row against the Hokies (8-9, 0-4). Anjale Barrett scored 14 points, and Lynetta Kizer and Demauria Liles had 12 points and 12 rebounds each for Maryland.

Lindsay Biggs scored a career-high 25 points and Utahya Dye added 20 for Virginia Tech, which has dropped four straight games and five of six overall.

Biggs hit a pull-up jumper and a 3-pointer to give the Hokies a 24-22 lead with 9:44 remaining in the first half. But Drey Mingo's jumper ignited a 20-6 run that produced a 42-30 lead, Maryland's largest of the first half.

The Terrapins converted four 3-pointers during the burst, with Toliver hitting a pair before briefly leaving the game after injuring her right ankle.

Toliver, who finished 8-for-10 from beyond the arc, hit a 3 from the top of the key to open the second half, starting an 11-3 run. She broke her record of six 3-pointers with a shot from deep in the left corner, off a falling-out-of-bounds feed from Coleman, with 8:48 remaining for a 78-60 lead.
