COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Episode No. 3 of Under the Shell, the Maryland women's basketball reality television program, will air Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m. on Comcast SportsNet. The episode features footage leading up to the Terrapins' victory over second-ranked North Carolina on Jan. 25 at the Comcast Center.
Before the UNC game, the team took part in the yearly tradition of a holiday party at head coach Brenda Frese's house. The next day, the Terps took control in the second half of their nationally-televised game against the Tar Heels.
The win, however, was tempered by the passing of legendary N.C. State coach Kay Yow. Coach Frese, UNC coach Sylvia Hatchell and former Maryland coach Chris Weller offer touching rememberances of the beloved coach.
The Terps' community service efforts are also featured, as members of the Special Olympics paid a visit to the Comcast Center earlier in the month.
Under the Shell, in its fifth season, is a groundbreaking reality television series about University of Maryland women's basketball. Produced by former Terrapin placekicker Jess Atkinson (who also produces FridgeTV), Under the Shell takes viewers behind-the-scenes to offer a glimpse into the day-to-day lives of women's basketball student-athletes, coaches and staff.
Each episode of the program is archived on the Under the Shell website website of umterps.com for on-demand viewing. Plus, the webpage features additional content not found in the television episodes.
The program airs weekly through March on Comcast SportsNet on Sunday's at 10:30 a.m. In addition to the original broadcasts, check local listings for weekly re-broadcasts of the show.
