Maryland Women Head to Atlanta for ESPNU Matchup with Georgia Tech

ATLANTA, Ga. - The University of Maryland women's basketball team will look for its sixth straight victory on Thursday when it takes on Atlantic Coast Conference foe Georgia Tech at 7 p.m. at Alexander Memorial Coliseum. The game will be televised on ESPNU.

Terp Notes

  • The Terps have won five straight and eight of their last nine games, going 3-1 vs ranked teams in that stretch

  • Marissa Coleman posted her fifth double-double of the season with a 22-point, 10-rebound performance to lead Maryland to its fifth straight victory, 67-47 over Rutgers on Sunday.
  • Maryland held Rutgers to its lowest field goal percentage (.247) of the season, with the Scarlet Knights sinking just 18 of their season-high 73 field goal attempts.
  • The Terps sank just four 3-point field goals, their lowest total in a month since going 3-for-13 at Clemson.
  • Kristi Toliver netted 18 points with three assists.

    Yellow Jacket Notes

  • Georgia Tech dropped a 73-50 decision at North Carolina on Sunday but has won four of its last six games.
  • Sophomore guard/forward Alex Montgomery is one of three Yellow Jackets scoring 10-plus points per game (12.8 ppg) and adds a team-best 7.0 rebounds per contest. Guard Jacqua Williams (11.4 ppg) and guard/forward Iasia Hemingway (10.6) are Georgia Tech's next two leading scorers; Williams swipes an ACC-high 3.6 steals per game.
  • Georgia Tech owns the stingiest defense in the ACC, allowing just 53.9 points per game.

    Series Notes

  • Maryland leads the Georgia Tech series, 41-16. The Terrapins have won two straight and six of the last seven meetings with the Yellow Jackets. Maryland, however, is just 1-4 in its last five games on the road vs Georgia Tech.
