COLLEGE PARK, Md. - MarylandWomensBasketball.com, the University of Maryland women's basketball program's new website that was launched in October, has unveiled a revamped section of the website dedicated to the team's reality television program, "Under The Shell."
The renovated "Under The Shell" section of the women's hoops program's cutting-edge website includes refurbished navigation and an overall face-lift, but still contains the same great features. Information and program archives of "Under The Shell" can now be found at the following address: www.UnderTheShell.tv, although the site will still link through Maryland's official athletics site, www.umterps.com.
All the television episodes from the start of the show's inception in 2004-05 will be available to watch anytime online. All the features, game highlights, "Freeze Frame" and other elements are still available and are featured throughout the new website, MarylandWomensBasketball.com.
"Our reality TV show, `Under The Shell,' has been a fantastic venue for us to really showcase our program from so many different perspectives," Terps head coach Brenda Frese said. "In addition to providing our fans with the traditional team updates such as game highlights, we give viewers a behind-the-scenes look at our off-court activities that really capture our players and staff personalities.
"I'm a strong believer in `all access,' especially when it comes to recruiting. Choosing your college is a major life decision. `Under The Shell' and our online videos allow prospective recruits to see what it's really like here at Maryland. I think it gives them comfort knowing what to expect and there are no surprises. We're really excited about our new website, MarylandWomensBasketball.com, and new home for `Under The Shell'...it makes it just that much easier for anyone to stay connected to our program."
Frese is the only head NCAA coach who is 100 percent "All Access" and who has an online/video presence such as this. From the program's first championship to the birth of her twin boys, fans and prospective student-athletes can go behind the scenes and learn what it's really like to be a part of the Maryland women's basketball program.
"Under The Shell" is in its fifth season and airs on Comcast SportsNet on Sunday's at 10:30 a.m.
