CORAL GABLES, Fla. - The Maryland women's swimming and diving team started its 2010 with a conference win at Miami, 191-103, Saturday.

The Terps (6-1, 3-1 ACC) swept both relays, taking first in the 200 medley and 200 free versions. Annie Fittin, Nina Rossi, Addison Koelle and Megan Lafferty teamed up to take the 200 medley (1:47.32) while Fittin and Lafferty combined with Ginny Glover and Laura Wright to win the 200 free (1:37.30).

"I am proud of how our girls raced today," head coach Sean Schimmel said. "We had a lot of very tough races considering the heavy training load we are in right now.

"Getting another win against an ACC opponent is important to us and the girls did that and took another step forward towards accomplishing their goals for the season. Our focus will always be ACCs and NCAAs and we are excited to kick off the second half of our season with a win against Miami."

Maryland returns to the friendly confines of Eppley Recreation Natatorium Saturday, January 9 for a dual meet versus Rutgers at 1 p.m.
