Fittin Shines on Day Two of NCAAs

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Annie Fittin finished 19th in the 100 back Friday to lead Maryland on day two of the NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships.

Fittin swam a 53.25 for her second individual top-20 showing of the championships. In the same event, sophomore Ginny Glover finished 32nd in her prelim swim (54.16) and freshman Megan Lafferty took 49th (55.45).

Maryland also participated in a pair of relays, finishing 20th in the 200 medley relay (1:40.53) and 17th in the 800 free relay (7:15.57) to end the evening session. In both races, the trio of Fittin, Glover and Lafferty were joined by senior Laura Wright.

The Terps conclude the championships Saturday as Glover competes in the 200 back, Fittin takes on the 100 free and Maryland makes a run at more points in the 400 free relay.
