INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -
University of Maryland All-American Kiani Profit has been selected to represent Team USA at this summer's NACAC Championships in Miramar, Fla.
The NACAC (North American, Central American, Carribean) Championships will be held July 9 to 11. The event draws the top under-23 athletes from around the region.
Profit, a rising senior from Pasadena, Calif., earned All-America status in June with her second-place finish in the heptathlon at the NCAA Outdoor Nationals in Oregon. It was her second All-America performance of the season, after also finishing second in the pentathlon at the NCAA Indoor Nationals in March.
She set Maryland school records in both multi-events this season. Profit was also the Women's Outdoor Field Performer of the Year for the Mid-Atlantic Region as voted by the U.S. Track & Field / Cross Country Coaches Association.
Profit will be one of 11 female student-athletes from Atlantic Coast Conference schools on Team USA for the NACAC Championships. She will team in the heptathlon with rising sophomore Dorcas Akinniyi of Wisconsin.
