Profit Leads Five on All-ACC Academic

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Led by pentathlon champion Kiani Profit, five University of Maryland student-athletes were honored Friday on the All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Indoor Track & Field teams.

Kristen Batts, who was fourth indoors in the women's weight throw joined Profit on the women's list. Distance standout Greg Kelsey, jumper Jarenn Stewart and All-ACC high jumper Jon Hill were members of the All-ACC Academic men's squad.

Stewart and Kelsey were honored for the third time in their careers by the league, while Profit earned her second honor.

Hill, who finished second in the men's high jump, and Profit were two of the 29 student-athletes who were both All-ACC and All-ACC Academic during the indoor track & field season.

To be eligible for All-ACC Academic consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative GPA. Consideration is also given to the athletic performance by the candidates.
