Greg Olsen enters his first season as an assistant coach on the Terrapin baseball coaching staff. Olsen graduated from Valdosta State in 2002 with a degree in health and physical education.

Playing four seasons at Valdosta State, Olsen had the ability to play many different positions. He spent some time at shortstop, second base, third base, left field, right field and pitched out of the bullpen as well. His 2001 team finished 20th nationally, while his 2002 team finished the season ranked 13th and won the Gulf South Conference Tournament.

After graduating from Valdosta State, Olsen spent last season as an assistant coach at Countryside High School in his native town of Clearwater, Fla.

Olsen is currently attending graduate school at Maryland, where he is studying criminology and criminal justice.
