As a Freshman (2010-11): Clinched FILA Junior All-American status after placing second at the Junior National Championships...went 22-11 in open competition...named co-Redshirt of the Year at team banquet...pinned Navy Prep's Ryan Hedgcorth in just 20 seconds...claimed individual title at the East Stroudsburg Open.

Before Maryland: A four-year letterwinner in wrestling at Georgetown Prep...multi-sport athlete that also was a two-year starter on the football team and four-year letterwinner on the track and field team...a two-time all-county selection in wrestling...owns the Georgetown single-season record with 188 takedowns...two-time conference champion at 125 pounds...state runner-up...team captain as a senior...a two-time National Preps All-American and one-time Flo National All-American.
