BALTIMORE - Director of Athletics Kevin Anderson and head coaches Brenda Frese and Mark Turgeon hosted the Maryland Basketball Big Ten Basketball Breakfast at Westminster Hall on the campus of the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore on Monday morning.
Frese and Turgeon visited with supporters from the Terrapin Club Scholarship Fund and answered questions about the upcoming basketball season regarding their inaugural campaign in the Big Ten conference.
Frese, who led the Terps to the Final Four last season, returns three of her top four scorers.
"We are very excited about the start of the season, our returning players and our very bright future," Frese said. We are looking forward to the new rivalries, the exciting venues we will travel to and the tremendous competition we will face in the Big Ten."
The University of Maryland has always had extremely strong ties to the city of Baltimore and the support and enthusiasm has not gone unnoticed.
“Baltimore is an outstanding city,” Turgeon said. “We receive tremendous support from this community. It is also great to come out and spend time and visit with so many great people.”
The Maryland Basketball Big Ten Basketball Breakfast was thanks to the efforts and outstanding support of Barry Gossett and Mike Gibbons from the Babe Ruth Museum. The event was hosted by Bruce Posner of Terp Talk.
Up next for the pair of programs is the annual Maryland Madness at XFINITY Center on Friday, October 17 at 8:00 p.m.
