COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The University of Maryland today announced gameday initiatives for the upcoming 2015-16 men's and women's basketball season at XFINITY Center.

Field Trip Day
Maryland will host UMASS Lowell in its second annual Field Trip Day on Friday, Nov. 20 at 11:00 a.m. Elementary students are invited to join the Terps for the morning weekday tipoff. Pre-registered classes will receive free admission and free lesson plans aligned with Common Core standards and focusing on numeracy and literacy. To learn more, visit umterps.com/fieldtrip.
In order to accommodate school bus parking in lots adjacent to XFINITY Center, season ticket holders are encouraged to park in Terrapin Trail Garage free of charge. All seating for Field Trip Day is general admission. Seats will be held for season ticket holders in Sections 101 and 114. Additionally, season ticket holders are invited to "Breakfast with Brenda" in Heritage Hall prior to the game where they can enjoy breakfast pastries and coffee with an appearance by reigning Big Ten Coach of the Year Brenda Frese. RSVP is required. Season ticket holders will receive an exclusive invitation via email.
Inaugural Bobble Head Giveaway Series
A lucky five hundred (500) fans in attendance when Maryland hosts Big Ten games against Northwestern (Jan. 17), Michigan State (Jan. 23), Indiana (Jan. 30), and Minnesota (Feb. 28) games will receive a complimentary bobblehead of the Terps' four seniors in the inaugural bobblehead series giveaway.

Men's Basketball
Rivalry Renewed
The Maryland-Georgetown game scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 17 coined “Rivalry Renewed” will feature appearances by many of our all-time favorite Terps who will be making a return visit to College Park. ESPN will host the Scott Van Pelt Show live from the XFINITY Center after the game.
Toys for Tots Challenge
Maryland and Penn State will collaborate in an important community initiative by collecting toys to benefit local area children and family during the team's Big Ten regular season opener on Wed., Dec. 30.
Fans are also encouraged to bring unwrapped toys to the Maryland women's basketball game on Sat., Dec. 5 vs. Central Connecticut State and the Maryland men's basketball game on Sat., Dec. 12 vs. Maryland-Eastern Shore

Tasty Food Options at XFINITY Center
The Chessie Junior, a smaller version of the Chessie, is sold at XFINITY Center. The junior version serves 1 to 2 guests.
Brenda's Peanut Butter Frese and Turge Turtle Crunch ice creams will be available for all regular season men's and women's home games on the concourse in Section 120. Additionally, ice cream will also be available for purchase in a cart located behind Section 102 for all Big Ten conference and select non-conference games.
Maryland Dining Services has partnered with the University of Maryland Chabad and will be offering a Certified Kosher Stand on the Concourse level. The stand, Testudo's Kosher Korner, will be debut for the Maryland-Georgetown game and be open during most Big Ten conference games.
The menu will feature: Sliced to Order Kosher Turkey, Corned Beef and Pastrami on Rye with Kosher mustard available, Kosher Falafel on Pita, Kosher Hot Dogs, Popcorn and assorted Pepsi Products.
Testudo's Kosher Korner will be operated by student and alumni members of the University of Maryland Chabad and will be under the supervision of Rabbi Eli Backman.
Alcohol Sales
Maryland Craft and National Brand beers are available for purchase at stands and kiosks throughout XFINITY Center for men's and women's basketball games this season.
Anyone appearing to be under the age of 40 will be required to present a valid government issued photo ID for service. Please have your ID ready to present. There is a limit of one beer per person per transaction. Beer sales conclude at the end of the third quarter for all women's basketball games and at the 10-minute mark of the second half for men's basketball games. All beer service will be poured into cups. Anyone misrepresenting their age to obtain beer or anyone providing beer to anyone under 21 years of age will be immediately ejected from the arena and criminally prosecuted. Any fan who appears to be intoxicated will be ejected from the arena. The University reserves the right to refuse alcoholic beverage service to anyone at its sole discretion.
Parking
Fans are highly encouraged to purchase parking in advance. Advance parking is available for the Regents Drive Garage online http://www.transportation.umd.edu/bballParking.html. Individuals requiring disabled parking may park in Terrapin Trail Garage (TTG). Disabled patrons must display their valid disabled placards and/or tags to gain access to TTG and will be required to pay $15 at the entrance to the garage.
