terps win fourth straight tourney title
• Maryland (10-5-5) captured its fourth-straight conference tournament crown when it upended top-seeded Ohio State, 2-0, in Columbus last Sunday afternoon.
• Goalkeeper Cody Niedermeier and midfielder Tsubasa Endoh were named Most Valuable Defensive and Offensive Player of the tournament, respectively. Eryk Williamson joined the duo on the all-tournament team. The rookie forward has four goals in the last four games.
• Sunday's championship is Maryland's 32nd conference title overall and eighth tournament crown.
niedermeier leads terps to B1G finals
• Goalkeeper Cody Niedermeier made four saves in the shootout to lift No. 3 seed Maryland past second-seeded Indiana, 3-2, in penalty kicks in the semifinals of the 2015 Big Ten Men's Soccer Championship.
• Mael Corboz, Emmanuel Korvah and Connor Smith made their penalty kicks as two of the premier programs in all of college soccer battled to a 1-1 tie through 110 minutes. Senior Tsubasa Endoh scored the Terps' lone goal in regulation. Maryland will have a shot at its fourth-straight league tournament championship when it faces top-seed Ohio State on Sunday. It was the fourth consecutive season that Maryland's semifinal matchup has been decided in overtime or penalty kicks.
• Endoh gave Maryland an early advantage with his third goal of the season in the 10th minute. Freshman Eryk Williamson played the role of facilitator when his pass from the far sideline found a streaking Endoh and the Tokyo-native finished from six yards for the 1-0 lead.
Williamson named b1G Player of the WEek
• Freshman Eryk Williamson was named the Big Ten Conferenc Co-Offensive Player of the Week for his outstanding performance against No. 16 Rutgers.
• The Alexandria, Va., native notched his first two career goals to lead Maryland to the pivotal win over the Scarlet Knights.
Packing Ludwig
• The Maryland men's soccer team saw three spectacular crowds in its first three matches at Ludwig Field to kick off the 2015 season.
• The Terps averaged nearly 6,300 fans per game after welcoming a stellar crowd of 6,294 against Michigan. Maryland is currently fourth in the nation in average attendance (3,480 per game).
• Maryland set a Ludwig Field-record with 8,449 fans at its electric victory over No. 1 UCLA on Sept. 4.
Terps down #1 ucla in front of record crowd
• Freshman Sebastian Elney headed home the game-winner in the 96th minute to lift the No. 6 Maryland men's soccer team past top-ranked UCLA, 2-1, in front of a Ludwig Field record crowd of 8,449 fans.
• Mael Corboz also scored for the Terrapins, who topped the previous record crowd of 8,397 established Sept. 6, 2013 against Duke. Redshirt junior Cody Niedermeier made six saves in his first start in goal at Ludwig.
six Terps snag all-B1g honors
• Senior Mael Corboz led a group of six Terrapins who earned All-Big Ten Conference Men's Soccer postseason awards.
• Corboz was tabbed a first team selection for the second consecutive season. Senior Tsubasa Endoh, juniors Alex Crognale and Chris Odoi-Atsem and freshman Sebastian Elney all garnered second team honors. Eryk Williamson joined fellow classmate Elney on the All-Freshman team.
• Corboz, a midfielder from Green Brook, N.J., played in all 17 matches for the Terps in 2015, racking up a team-high nine assists and adding a pair of goals. The senior captain was also named a Senior CLASS candidate early this season.
• Endoh picked up his first career all-conference honor after scoring three goals and adding four assists while playing in all 17 matches in the midfield for Maryland. The Tokyo-native posted a team-high two game-winning goals in 2015.
• Crognale and Odoi-Atsem helped guide the Terps to eight shutouts this season, including clean sheets against #4 Notre Dame and #17 Washington in addition to conference foes Michigan, Michigan State and Indiana. Crognale, who hails from Gahanna, Ohio, also racked up a career-high two goals. It was the second straight all-conference nod for Odoi-Atsem, a defender from Mitchellville, Md.
• Elney paced the Terps offensively as a rookie in 2015, posting a team-high six goals and adding a pair of assists. A forward from Boca Raton, Fla., Elney's overtime game-winner against then-No. 1 UCLA has been viewed nearly 370,000 times online.
• Williamson has played in all 17 matches for the Terrapins, notching 16 starts. He picked up his first two career goals in a pivotal win against No. 16 Rutgers to close the regular season. The Alexandria, Va., native has also posted three assists this season.
• Additionally, junior goalkeeper Cody Niedermeier was named a Sportsmanship Award honoree.
Meet the new guys
• The Terps have 13 newcomers on this year's roster, including 11 freshmen. Rookies Connor Smith, Sebastian Elney, Amar Sejdic, DJ Reeves, Andrew Samuels, Jorge Calix, Eryk Williamson, Paul Bin, Aaron Franco, Diego Silva, and Dayne St. Clair join St. John's transfer Cody Albrecht and Eastern Florida JUCO standout Ivan Magalhaes on this year's squad.
Corboz named senior class candidate
• Maryland senior midfielder Mael Corboz has been named a candidate for the 2015 Senior CLASS Award.
• In the classroom, Corboz maintains a 3.4 GPA as an engineering major at Maryland and is a senior captain and leader of a youth-laden 2015 squad that includes 11 freshmen.
• Corboz started a non-profit called the Healthy HeartBeets that focuses on educating children from lower-income areas regarding healthy eating. It started as a means of providing information about affordable alternatives to fast food but eventually became a larger nutrition education program through which he went to different schools and talked to young children about what they typically eat and taught them about healthier alternatives to those specific products.
• A first-team All-Big Ten selection in 2014 after leading the Big Ten in goals scored (10), Corboz was named the Big Ten Championship Most Valuable Player after notching the game-winner against Indiana in the title game. He led the Terps to both regular season and tournament titles in Maryland's inaugural season in the Big Ten.

• Virginia (10-4-3) defeated Rider, 2-0, to punch its ticket to the second round on Thursday in Charlottesville.
• The Cavaliers boast a very diverse offense with 12 different players notching goals in 2015. Jake Rozhansky leads UVA with four goals.
• Maryland leads the all-time series, 40-29-9, in a series that dates back to 1941.
