Each week during the 2014-15 season a Maryland student-athlete, who has shown excellence on and off the playing field, will be selected as the Solomon Eye Associates Terp of the Week. This week's Solomon Eye Associates Terp of the Week is junior Taylor Cummings of women's lacrosse.
Junior Taylor Cummings led the No. 1 Maryland women's lacrosse team (2-0) as the Terps defeated then-No. 2 North Carolina last Sunday. In a thrilling 13-11 win, Cummings' play across the field guided the Terrapins to victory in a rematch of the 2013 NCAA Championship game.
Cummings scored a hat trick while also winning five draw controls, picking up two ground balls and causing two turnovers.
Through two games this season, the junior midfielder is ranked fifth nationally in draw controls per game (7.00) and sixth nationally in caused turnovers per game (3.00).
