• Maryland notched its first-ever Big Ten road sweep, taking three games from Purdue over the weekend. Sunday's 4-3 comeback win gave head coach John Szefc is 100th career win at the school. The Terrapin skipper is the fastest to ever reach that milestone.
• The Terrapins lead the all-time series with Delaware 16-10-1.
• Sophomore right-handed pitcher Mike Shawaryn has accepted an invitation to join the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team and will be a part of a 24-player squad that will embark on a two-month tour comprised of at least 17 games in June and July.
• Shawaryn will become the second student-athlete in Maryland baseball history to don the Stars and Stripes in competition after Pete Sinopoli in 1979.
• After setting the single season program record for wins in a season (11) last year, Shawaryn has enjoyed a sensational sophomore campaign. He leads the country with a 10-0 record and sports a 1.57 ERA. Shawaryn paces the Big Ten in strikeouts with 92 and opponents are batting just .187 against the right-hander.
• Shawaryn's 21 career wins are the most for any sophomore in the country. Shawaryn's 21st win against Purdue on April 24 broke the Maryland all-time career record previously held by John Rayne (1989-92).
•Shawaryn and sophomore second baseman Brandon Lowe were named to the 60-player midseason USA Baseball Golden Spikes Award Watch List. The award is given to the top amateur baseball player in the country.
• Lowe currently leads the Big Ten in slugging (.604), runs scored (47) and total bases (102). He is second in home runs (9), on-base percentage (.463) and walks (29).
• Catcher Kevin Martir has been outstanding at the plate this season. The junior is second in the conference in average (.367), fourth in slugging (.563), and third in OBP (.454).
• Martir was named to the Johnny Bench Award Watch List. The honor is given to the best catcher in the country.
• Maryland's pitching staff has been mowing opposing batters down all season. The Terps lead the Big Ten with 370 strikeouts on the season, including 129 struck out looking, also a conference high.
• Kevin Mooney notched his fourth save of the season against Liberty to move his all-time Maryland career saves record to 26 The record was previously held by Brett Cecil. Mooney broke the record with a save against Minnesota on March 21.
