COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The third-ranked Maryland women's basketball team (12-1) will open Big Ten play with a game at Minnesota (9-5, 0-1 B1G) Sunday at 6 p.m. ET in Minneapolis. The Terps-Gophers game will be streamed online through BTN Plus and the BTN2Go app.

Sunday's matchup is the fifth all-time between Maryland and Minnesota. Maryland owns the series, 4-0 and is 1-0 at Williams Arena. Most recently, Maryland won 110-77 in the regular season finale in College Park last February.

Brenda Frese was the head coach at Minnesota for the 2001-02 season. She led the Gophers to a record of 22-8 and an NCAA Tournament berth before being named AP National Coach of the Year.

Most recently, the Terps lost a battle vs. No. 1 Connecticut, 87-81, Thursday in College Park. Destiny Slocum led Maryland with 23 points and Brionna Jones added 19 with 13 rebounds. Kaila Charles scored 18 points.

The Terps are No. 2 in the country in field goal percentage (51.1%) and rebounding margin (+17.4). They arethird in scoring (90.4) and scoring margin (+32.5) and fifth in assists (20.5). (more on page 7)

Shatori Walker-Kimbrough is No. 7 on Maryland's all-time scoring list with 1,707 career points. She is behind Shay Doron, Vicky Bullett, Kristi Toliver, Marissa Coleman, Crystal Langhorne and Alyssa Thomas. Walker-Kimbrough's career three-point percentage of 45.6% is currently the best in Maryland history ahead of Kristi Toliver's career percentage of 40.8%. She needs four assists to reach 300. Brionna Jones is No. 7 on Maryland's rebounding list with 956 career boards. She recently moved to No. 15 on Maryland's scoring list with 1,460 points. (more page 26)

The Terrapins were picked to win the Big Ten by both the league's head coaches and media panel. Brionna Jones and Shatori Walker-Kimbrough were also named to the Preseason All-Big Ten Team.

The Terrapins are ranked No. 4 in the Associated Press poll and No. 3 in the USA Today Division I Coaches poll.
