COLLEGE PARK, Md. – After a dominant performance at the Terrapin Invitational, the Maryland track and field team will head to New York for the Armory Track Invitational this weekend. Action begins on Friday at noon before culminating on Saturday.

Leading off

• Maryland enters this weekend after a strong showing at the Terrapin Invitational. Maryland women's team won the competition with 180 points while the men's team also had a number of strong performances.  
• Senior Chioma Onyekwere won both the shot put and the weight throw. Her toss of 65-08.75 was just off the school record in the weight throw. Sophomore Claudia Ababio finished second in both events.
• Senior Noella Anyangwe clocked 8.58 to win the 60-meter hurdle in a dominant performance. Her mark broke a personal best and sits in sixth in Maryland history.
• In the 60 meters, junior Micha Powell continued her fantastic season with a 7.66 to win the event title. Powell's time was tenth in program history.
• Maryland dominated the 600m with six athletes in the top seven spots. Sophomore Alexandra Lucki led the way in 1:35.29, a time that ranks sixth in Maryland history. Senior Charlotte Staver (1:35.83) and junior Catherine Voelpel (1:35.91) finished out the top-three sweep while Alexandra Cimino (1:37.80, 5th), Obichi Onwukwe (1:39.48, 6th) and Rachelle Alexander (1:40.95, 7th) stamped Maryland's dominance in the event. Cimino, Staver, Voepel and Lucki are all set to compete this weekend.
• Junior Lisa Meneau will take to the track this weekend after winning the 300m at the Terrapin Invitational in a school record 39.24.
• In the high jump, Johnna Dominick will anchor the event after a third-place finish last weekend while multi-event specialist Peyton Wade could also do well in the event.
• Maryland features a strong distance contingent that includes Emily VandeWater, Alexa Squirini and Sydney Almeida.
• The men's side features all three competitors that won titles at the Terrapin Invitational. Junior Paul Joseph won the 300m and will be in New York with fellow standout TJ Bleichner this weekend.
• Freshman Carlos Vanzego had a breakout performance to take the triple jump crown last weekend and is scheduled to compete. Fellow freshman AJ Ruffin and Hazem Miawad will also be in action.
• Senior Dan Trettel will look to continue his strong season after winning the 800m last week. Additional men competing include Brandon Thompson, Alex Leto, Louis Corgliano and Tom Hogarty.

Top 10 Plays

• Maryland has already had multiple athletes crack the school's top-10 all-time lists so far this season. Junior Micha Powell highlights this trend with here record breaking 1:12.46 in the 500m at the Penn State Relays.
• Catherine Voelpel notched a top performance in the same event. The junior ran 1:14.89 at the Great Dane Classic; the eighth-best performance in school history.
• Powell also made her mark in the 200m with a time of 24.50 at the Great Dane Classic that ranks sixth in school history.
• Sophomore Alexandra Lucki, propelled by a standout cross country season, ran 2:51.64 in the 1,000m at the Great Dane Classic. That represented the fifth-best time in Maryland history.
• Junior Sydney Almeida, another cross country stalwart, clocked 17:40.98 in the 5,000m at the Great Dane Classic; the eighth-best mark in Maryland history.
