COLUMBUS, Ohio- Outfielders Sarah Calta and Destiney Henderson tallied RBI knocks to score two but Maryland allowed twelve and dropped the Big Ten opener 12-2 in five innings.

Ohio States scored in every offensive inning as the Buckeyes put up two in the first, three in the second, four in the third, and three in the fourth for a total of twelve.

In the first two innings, the Buckeyes scored off walks as the Terps gave up seven free bases. Ohio State added three hits and was on top 5-0 through two.

After Emily Libero walked, Sarah Calta brought her in with a shot to the deepest part of the ballpark for a RBI triple.

With a lead of 5-1, the first of two Alex Bayne homeruns gave the Buckeyes a 9-1 lead.

Destiney Henderson followed walks by Corey Schwartz and Sarah Lang with a RBI single to cut it to 9-2. However, a second Alex Bayne three run jack in the fourth gave the Buckeyes a 12-2 cushion.
