Box Score MINNEAPOLIS, Minn.- The Maryland softball team fell victim to a Sara Groenewegen no-hitter on Friday night, falling to the Gophers 10-0, in five innings.
The Terrapins had two base runners reach in the game, with Kylie Datil and Destiney Henderson reaching back to back in the second inning. Datil drew a full-count walk while Henderson reached on an error.
No. 24 Minnesota scored one run in the first, three in the second, and six in the fourth to put ten on the scoreboard. In the first, it was two straight singles followed by a RBI groundout. In the second, a three run Sam Macken home run did the trick. In the fourth, a barrage of five hits assisted by one Maryland error put six on the board for the Gophers.
Redshirt junior Brenna Nation threw all four innings for the Terps.
Maryland and No. 24 Minnesota will tangle for the second time on the weekend tomorrow at 2:00 ET.
