Seven Alums to Compete in MLL Title Game

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Seven Maryland men's lacrosse alums will compete for the Major League Lacrosse Championship this weekend as the Ohio Machine take on the Denver Outlaws in Atlanta, Ga., on Aug. 20 at 7 p.m.

Maryland has the most alums competing in the title game by a large margin, with Virginia (4) and Notre Dame (3) rounding out the top-3.

Jeremy Sieverts ('09) and Drew Snider ('12) of the Denver Outlaws are going for their second MLL Championship in the last three seasons, and are joined by Max Schmidt ('11).

Sieverts had a monster game in Denver's 20-17 semifinal victory over the New York Lizards, pacing his team with six points on three goals and three assists. Snider also added a goal in the game.

The Ohio Machine, which advanced to the finals with a 16-10 win over Charlotte, feature four former Terps: Dan Groot ('09), Jake Bernhardt ('13), Kyle Bernlohr ('16) and Bryan Cole ('16).

Bernhardt helped set the pace in the Machine's victory, scoring two goals on three shots, while also collecting three ground balls.

Tickets for the 2016 Championship Game start at $20 for individual tickets. Tickets are available for the Championship Game at the event page. You can also find the tickets at  www.majorleaguelacrosse.com, or by calling 855-44-BLAZE.
