COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The Maryland wrestling team took to the links Friday as the squad welcomed alums and friends of program for the 11th annual Wrestling Golf Outing at the University of Maryland Golf Course.
Over 120 golfers participated at this year's event, with proceeds going towards support of the wrestling program.
“This is always such a fun event for us,” said head coach Kerry McCoy. “It's so important to get our alums and supporters back on campus, and this provides a great platform to connect them with our guys. We're excited to get this year started.”
The event kicked off with a shotgun start at 8:00 a.m., followed by lunch and reception at the course clubhouse. Patrons were afforded the opportunity to bid on Maryland merchandise at the silent auction while getting a chance to meet this year's squad.
The Terps welcome 10 newcomers to the fold in 2016-17, while returning several starters as the team gets set to embark on its third season in the Big Ten.
