Terps Place Two at U23 World Team Trials

ROCHESTER, Minn. -- Junior Youssif Hemida placed second and redshirt sophomore Jaron Smith finished in 4th at the U23 World Team Trials this weekend.

While neither wrestler qualified for the World Team, the weekend was filled with plenty of highlights.

Smith knocked off a Division II National Champion and also defeated a two-time Division I All-American. Hemida also impressed with a win over the 2017 Maccabiah Games Champion.

Hemida and Smith will be back in action when the Terps hit the mat for their first match of the season on Nov. 4, against Rutgers at Yankee Stadium.

Be sure to keep up with the Terps throughout the remainder of the preseason and the regular season by following @TerpsWrestling on Twitter.
