COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Maryland men's lacrosse senior attackman Matt Rambo has been named Big Ten Offensive Player of the week after an outstanding performance in the Terrapins' season-opener at then-No.11 Navy.
Rambo was both a finisher and facilitator in the Terps' win, matching his career-high with six points on three goals and three assists. The Glenside, Pa., native tallied five of his six points in the second half, including all three assists on a critical four-goal run in the third quarter.
The senior attackman carried his momentum from an impressive postseason run in 2016, when he set the Maryland program record for points in a single NCAA Tournament (23). Over his last seven games dating back to 2016, Rambo has tallied 40 points on 20 goals and 20 assists.
Rambo and the Terrapins return to action today (Feb. 14) in Philadelphia at 4pm when they take on St. Joseph's at Sweeney Field.
