INDIANAPOLIS – The Big Ten co-champion and fourth-seeded Maryland women's basketball team (27-2) will open its Big Ten Tournament run Friday at 6:30 p.m. ET vs. 10th-seeded Minnesota (15-15) at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

Brionna Jones and
Shatori Walker-Kimbrough were unanimous All-Big Ten First Team selections this week, both earning the honor for the third straight year. They were both named to the All-Big Ten Defensive Team.
Destiny Slocum was named Big Ten Freshman of the Year and to the All-Big Ten Second Team.
Kaila Charles earned All-Big Ten Freshman Team honors and
Kristen Confroy earned a Sportsmanship Award.
The Terps are 7-0 vs. the Gophers all-time. Maryland has not played Minnesota in the Big Ten Tournament. Maryland beat Minnesota, 93-60, Sunday in College Park behind 27 points from Walker-Kimbrough and 24 with 14 rebounds from Jones. Charles added 11 points and Kiah Gillespie scored 10.The Terrapins are 6-0 in the Big Ten Tournament and 3-0 in Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Last year, Walker-Kimbrough was named Tournament MOP last year after averaging 19.0 points and 8.3 rebounds in the three-game stretch. Jones was named to the All-Tournament Team after posting 16.7 points and 13.3 boards per game in the run.
Walker-Kimbrough is No. 5 on Maryland's all-time scoring list with 2,036 career points and needs 43 to pass Kristi Toliver at No. 4 (2,078). Walker-Kimbrough's career three-point percentage of 45.5% is currently the best in Maryland history ahead of Toliver's 40.8%. She currently has made 173 three-pointers in her career, which is No. 2 in Maryland history.
Jones is tied with Marissa Coleman for No. 3 on Maryland's rebounding list with 1,139 career boards. She is No. 8 on Maryland's scoring list with 1,792 points. She currently leads the Big Ten with 20 double-doubles this year.
Slocum's 168 assists this year are nearing the Maryland freshman record for assists of 171 by Dara Taylor (2010). Slocum also needs to make two three-pointers to break the freshman record of 59 set by Toliver.
Jones is leading the country in field goal percentage (69.0%) for the second straight year. The Terrapins lead the country in scoring (90.0) and are No. 2 in field goal percentage (.505) and rebounding margin (+16.1). They are third in scoring margin (+26.9) and fourth in assists (20.2).
In Big Ten play, Slocum is leading the league in assists with 7.5 per game and Jones is leading in rebounding (11.4).
