RALEIGH, N.C. -- The fifth-seeded Maryland women's basketball (26-7) will take on fourth-seeded N.C. State (25-8) Sunday at 2 p.m. in the NCAA Second Round at the Wolfpack's Reynolds Coliseum.

Maryland handled 12th-seeded Princeton, 77-57, in the NCAA First Round Friday. Kaila Charles led the way with 20 points, Eleanna Christinaki scored 16 with eight boards and Kristen Confroy added 14 points. Brianna Fraser grabbed 11 rebounds.
This Maryland's 26th appearance in the NCAA Tournament, eighth straight and 14th in Brenda Frese's 16 years at Maryland. The Terrapins are 45-24 (.652) all-time in the NCAA Tournament and 33-12 (.733) under Frese. She's led the Terps to eight Sweet Sixteens, six Elite Eights, three Final Fours and the 2006 NCAA title.
NC State leads the all-time series, 42-36, but Maryland won 8 of the last 10 matchups since 2005. Most recently, the Wolfpack won 72-63 in Raleigh on Jan. 30, 2014. Maryland is 10-23 all-time at Reynolds Coliseum, but 4-4 under Frese. She is 10-5 all-time vs. NC State.
Sophomore Kaila Charles was named to the All-Big Ten First Team by both the coaches and the media. She averaged 20.3 points, 8.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists in the Terps' Big Ten Tournament run and was named to the All-Big Ten Tournament Team. Junior Eleanna Christinaki and senior Kristen Confroy earned All-Big Ten Honorable Mention honors from the coaches and the media as well. Fifth-year senior Ieshia Small was named the Big Ten Sixth Player of the Year.
Seven Terps are scoring over 9.0 points per game - Kaila Charles (18.4), Blair Watson (13.8), Eleanna Christinaki (12.1), Stephanie Jones (10.7), Brianna Fraser (10.0), Kristen Confroy (9.8) and Ieshia Small (9.2).
The Terrapins are currently ranked No. 7 in the country in three-point field goal percentage (.391). Confroy is No. 12 in the country and leads the Big Ten in three-point FG percentage (.450). Kaila Charles is No. 9 in the league in scoring, No. 8 in rebounding and No. 5 in field goal percentage. Freshman Channise Lewis averages 4.8 assists, which is sixth in the Big Ten overall and No. 2 among freshmen around the country. She is third in the league overall in assist/turnover ratio (2.6).
Charles has scored in double figures in 30 of 33 games this season. Her 18.4 points per game are the most ever by a Terrapin sophomore. Confroy has played in 116 straight games, dating back to February of her freshman year. She is No. 3 in the Maryland record books in career three-point percentage (.405).
Maryland is ranked No. 16 in the Associated Press poll and in the USA Today Coaches poll.
