COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- Maryland wrestling head coach
Kerry McCoy will coach the Junior Pan American Championship Freestyle team this weekend, while also assuming the role of Secretary of USA Wrestling.
McCoy will lead a squad to Fortaleza, Brazil, with competition taking place on Sunday, August 19. His international coaching experience includes coaching on the Olympic Men's Freestyle staff during the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.

In addition, McCoy was elected Secretary of the USA Wrestling Board of Directors. It is McCoy's first time serving as an officer of USA Wrestling, and he will serve a two-year term. He is currently the only first-time USA Wrestling officer. Two-time Olympic champion Bruce Baumgartner was re-elected as USA Wrestling president, marking his second consecutive two-year term as president.
Elected as First Vice President was Mark Reiland of Iowa City, Iowa. Elected Second Vice President was Greg Strobel of Bethlehem, Pa. Elected as Treasurer was Van Stokes of Clarksville, Tenn.
Elected to the Board of Directors as at-large members were Jordan Burroughs of Lincoln, Neb., Joan Fulp of El Granada, Calif., Don Reynolds of Frankfort, Ill., Mike Juby of Hutchinson, Kan., Eric Guerrero of Norman, Okla. and Bill Swink of Spotsylvania, Pa.
