College Park, Md. - The Maryland gymnastics team will travel to Illinois to face the No. 36 Fighting Illini for a Big Ten Conference meet this Saturday at 3 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
The GymTerps won their home opener with 193.850 last Sunday when they hosted Cortland, West Chester and Penn in the first Quad meet of the season. The Terps held the highest scores for Vault, Bars, Floor and All-Around.
"Getting three wins is really a confidence booster," said head coach Brett Nelligan. "The girls shook out all their nerves and their small mistakes and now we have another chance to compete."
Kirsten Peterman had the strongest showing for the Terps posting the top all-around score of the meet 38.500. Sophomore Audrey Barber followed closely behind with a 37.950.
Junior Alecia Farina and Sophomore Emilie LeBlanc tied for the highest score of the competition, both with a 9.875 on bars. Maryland's best event of the day came on bars giving the team an overall score of 48.875. Freshman Sanya Glauber also impressed on bars with a career-high 9.850 to open in her collegiate debut.
The team tallied a 48.675 on vault with sophomore Collea Burgess leading the Terps with a 9.775 in the event.
SCOUTING THE FIGHTING ILLINI
This is the third meet for the Illini this season, the second at home and first Big Ten meet. Illinois upset No. 8 Kentucky in last week's meet 195.175 – 195.100, falling only to Oregon State in the meet.
Sophomore Kylie Noonan won the floor-title with a 9.900. Senior Mary Jane Otto took the title on beam and bars posting a 9.875 in both events.
Sophomore Nicole Biondi finished sixth in the all-around with a 38.350, her best score of the 2019 season. Junior Rae Balthazor finished with a 37.575 in the all-around for the Illini.
Illinois scored a 49.000 on floor and a 48.575 or better on all rotations.
