COLUMBUS, Ohio – Stephanie Jones led with 20 points, Taylor Mikesell shined in her home state and Shakira Austin broke the freshman blocks record as the No. 10 Terps (17-2, 6-2) used a second half run to win at Ohio State, 70-57.
This marks Maryland's first ever win at Ohio State as the Terps have now won in the opposing arena of all 13 Big Ten teams.
The Big Ten's leader in three pointers, Mikesell, added three tonight as part of her 14 points and seven assists. Austin led the game with 11Â rebounds.
Maryland opened with an 8-2 lead, then let the Buckeyes hit a few threes to take a one-point lead. The teams stayed locked in a back-and-forth battle in the first quarter and were tied at 18 heading into the second.
The Terps and the Buckeyes combined for 16 turnovers in the second quarter, but eight points from Stephanie Jones and two three-pointers by Taylor Mikesell helped the Terrapins to a 32-28 lead at the break.

Maryland won the third quarter, 22-18, to take a 54-46 lead into the final 10 minutes. The Terps outrebounded the Buckeyes by seven in the period to help build the lead.

The Terrapins opened the fourth quarter with back-to-back threes by Sara Vujacic and Channise Lewis to open a 13-point lead at 59-46. They made it a 12-0 run bridging the third and fourth quarters.

With her two blocks, freshman Shakira Austin now has 53 Â blocks this season, the most ever by a Maryland freshman. She topped Marissa Coleman's rookie record of 52 in the 2005-06 season.

Next, the Terrapins will travel to Indiana (16-3, 5-2) Sunday for a noon matchup that will be televised around the world on the Big Ten Network.

Two of Maryland's incoming Terrapins were named McDonald's All-Americans Thursday afternoon. Ashley Owusu (Woodbridge, Va.) and Diamond Miller (Somerset, N.J.) were both named to the East Team. All four of Maryland's class of 2019 signees - Owusu, Miller, Faith Masonius (Manasquan, N.J.) and Zoe Young (Des Moines, Iowa)Â - were McDonald's All-American nominees. In her 17 seasons in College Park, head coach Brenda Frese has signed 24 McDonalds' All-Americans. The Terps' class of 2019 is the third-ranked class in the country.
