HAMMOCK BEACH, Fla. – The Maryland men's golf team finished second out of 14 conference teams in the Big Ten Match Play event at the Conservatory and Ocean courses at the Hammock Beach Resort in Palm Coast, Fla.

The Terrapins earned their best-ever finish in the event, which was a single-elimination tournament, with the seeds determined using the Nov. 20, 2018, final fall Golfstat rankings.

Maryland entered the event ranked No. 93 in the Golfstat rankings. The Terps knocked off No. 70 Minnesota, 4-2, in the first round Friday and No. 36 Northwestern in the second round to advance to the Semifinals.

Maryland beat Nebraska, 4-2, to advance to play No. 52 Ohio State in Saturday's final round. The Terrapins fell to the Buckeyes, 4.5-1.5.

Peter Knade (Easton, Md.) won three of his head-to-head matches and tied one on the week. Junior
Christian Park (Charlotte, N.C.) went 3-1 and redshirt junior
Evan Santa picked up the Terps' point against Ohio State.
